Safer Internet Day - February 9
|
Safer Internet Day is organised by Insafe each year in February to promote safer and more responsible use of online technology and mobile phones, especially amongst children and young people across the world. The topic for 2010 is "Think B4 U post!".
"Think B4 U post" tips
Anything anyone posts online remains there for an indefinite period and accessible for everyone. This can have serious consequences.Children and teenagers need to be made aware that they can control their online identity.
Do you know if your child:
- uses the privacy settings offered by social networking services?
- selects friends online that they can trust?
- publishs their own photos after thinking carefully about the potential consequences?
- publishs pictures of their friends with their permission?
For more information about internet safety, log on to Safer Interent and Thinkuknow

Global Citizenship
|
Global Citizenship is made up of a group of S6 pupils, who have contact with a partnership school in Uganda called St Joseph's. Over the course of the year they are raising money to fund an exchange programme for two Ugandans to visit Scotland and 4 S6 pupils to visit Uganda. You can follow their progress through the blog below:
